   Biography
 
Dr. Karim Maredia is a Professor and Senior Associate to the Dean in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at Michigan State University (MSU). He serves as the Director of the World Technology Access (WorldTAP) Program. Dr. Maredia has been actively involved in international training, capacity building, and technology transfer programs. Dr. Maredia received his Bachelors degree in Agriculture in 1979 from the Konan Krishi Vidhyapeeth in Dapoli, Ratnagiri in Maharashtra, India. He received his Masters Degree in Agriculture from the Alabama A&M University in USA in 1982 and his PhD degree in Agriculture from the University of Arkansas in USA in 1985. Dr. Maredia has worked in numerous international development projects funded by the USAID, USDA, UN-FAO, the World Bank, Rockefeller Foundation, Winrock International, and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Prior to joining Michigan State University in 1989, Dr. Maredia worked with the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) in Mexico as a Research Scientist for three years. He has published more than 25 research papers and articles and co-edited five books. Dr. Maredia has extensively traveled to more than 50 countries around the world and has disseminated knowledge, information and new technologies widely to the global agricultural development community.
