Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP), a research center established in July 2003 in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, aims to play a significant role in the progress of science and technology in Egypt. The CSSP will help researchers and scientists to get the best support needed to advance their work through international collaborations.

The German-Egyptian Year for Cooperation
in Science and Technology

As 2007 was declared "The German-Egyptian year for Cooperation in Science and Technology", the Central Metallurgical Research and Development Institute (CMRDI) was selected to be the focal point in materials science and nanotechnology. Accordingly, a series of workshops is organized in this context in a number of scientific fields as follows:

Workshops with Germany:

  1. Materials-Based Manufacturing technologies, to be held from 7-9th May 2007 in CMRDI, Egypt.
  2. Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology, to be held from 4-6th September 2007 in Stuttgart, Germany.
  3. Materials Behavior, Qualification and Characterization, to be held in November 2007, in the German University in Cairo (GUC).
Workshop with Sweden:

A workshop on Materials Processing and Manufacturing Technologies, in Cairo from 14-16 May 2007

International Conference

CMRDI will organize from 19-22 May 2007 an international conference on Metals Processing and Manufacturing MPM 2007. The conference will be a good opportunity to discuss projects which could be submitted to EC. Details about the conference can be found on CMRDI's website:
