The Eleventh International Congress of Egyptologists

Dear Participants,

The Organizing Committee of the ICE in Bibliotheca Alexandrina with the International Association of Egyptologists and the Ministry of States of Antiquities, had decided to postpone the date of the congress till September 2014 instead of September 2013, in order to allow more participants to register.

The Calligraphy Center -affiliated to- Bibliotheca Alexandrina- is honored to announce hosting professor Paul Dilley, Ph.D. Religious Studies, Yale University (2008), Dissertation: “The Care of the Other in Ancient Monasticism: A Cultural History of Ascetic Guidance.” A study of “spiritual direction” from the perspective of social and cultural history. Currently He is an Assistant Professor of History and Religious Studies, Classics and Ancient Mediterranean Studies.

The Calligraphy Center is one of the research centers affiliated to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Its aim is to study inscriptions, calligraphies and writings in the world throughout the ages, from the pre-dynastic period up to the digital age.
