Equipment
The 100 seats of the Planetarium are arranged
with an increasing backward tilt in order to provide the audience
with a comfortable view of the 360°
surrounding screen.
The BA Planetarium is well equipped with advanced
technologies and devices.

Projection Screen
The projection screen inside the Planetarium is
a hemisphere, 14.02 meters in diameter,
made of special material to provide the best image.
Star Ball projector
Centered in the auditorium, it is a state-of-the-art
Star Ball projector, that reflects the stars, the moon, the various
constellations together with the celestial coordinates over the
spherical screen.
The projector is operated through a special computer and the ATM4
Software.
Video Projector
There are 3 RGB video projectors that integrate
to project a video picture over 220°
of the 360° spherical screen.
IMAX projector
The Planetarium is also equipped with the IMAX (Image MAXimum) projector. It is the ultimate movie experience, as with crystal clear images up to eight stories high and wrap-around digital surround sound, IMAX takes you to places you only imagined.
More than 700 million people around the world have been spellbound by the force and beauty of the IMAX experience which is technically advanced and visually stunning.
Slide Projector
There are 18 slide projectors distributed all around
the auditorium periphery. Six of these are dissolve pair projectors.
The other 12 are projectors that provide a pair of AllSky pictures. The projectors cover the 360° screen.
Clouds Projector
The Planetarium is equipped with projectors capable
of simulating the view of the clouds.
DVD and Laser discs
In addition to all the above projection facilities,
the Planetarium is also equipped to project laser shows and DVD
films.
The Planetarium is also equipped with seven speakers that are distributed
all around the auditorium and are automatically controlled to provide
the best sound quality and astounding sound effects.
