Note:Collective tickets allow entrance to the Library, exhibitions and museums (antiquities and manuscripts). Admission to the Taha Hussein Library for the visually impaired is free.

Visitors may access all library resources and join guided tours. This ticket also includes access to Permanent Exhibitions, “The World of Shadi Abdel Salam” and “Impression of Alexandria” as well as Temporary Exhibitions.

Admission to the Planetarium

Culturama, designed by CULTNAT, is a cultural panoramic show portraying the history of Egypt and is considered the first interactive nine screens worldwide. Free-of-charge, and lasting for 15-20 min, it is displayed on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at:

 

12:30 pm (French)

1:30 pm (English)

2:30 pm (Arabic)


Prior reservation for Culturama is obligatory for school visits and groups (maximum 60 persons per group and reservation should be at least 5 days in advance).

The Tours Guide Desk is located in the Foyer of the Library of Alexandria. Tours are being offered in the following languages: Arabic, English, French, Italian and Spanish.
During the tour, visitors are introduced to the historical background of the ancient library, the efforts made to build the new library, the significance and concept behind this dazzling building as well as other information about the different sections of the Library of Alexandria.
The receptionists are responsible for prior reservation either by phone, e-mail (visits@bibalex.org) or personal contact for individuals and groups.

Pre-scheduled School Groups

BA welcomes pre-scheduled school groups. Reservations should be made at least 5 days in advance.

The Library of Alexandria provides guided tours every 15 minutes for the public during regular working hours. Click more for the schedule.

 

Presentations can be scheduled for children ages, (4 to 9 years) and are designed in order to explain and describe the history of the Ancient Library of Alexandria and the building of the modern Library in a simplified manner using animation.

Only through reservation these presentations may be given on any day (except Fridays and Saturdays) during working hours.

The presentations lasts approximately 45 minutes each along with a tour of the Library building.
