iEARN project

It is the International Education and Resource Network, one of the world's largest non-profit global networks, that connects young people from all over 100 countries, and empowers them to work online together using the Internet and other new communication technologies. The iEARN project enables students to develop:

  • The habit of getting involved in community issues
  • Research and critical thinking skills
  • Experience with new technologies
  • Cultural awareness

Briefly we choose a topic of interest with a group of young adults, then start to gather the information needed for implementing this project from various resources. The last step involves a final "product" or exhibition of the learning that has taken place as part of the collaboration. The theme chosen at the Young People's Library is “Alexandria”. We will concentrate on the history, archeological places and districts, museums, historical mosques and churches in Alexandria.
