Information Desk

Librarians at the Information Desk of the YP Library are available during library hours to serve the young adults, guide them on how to use the library resources and answer their inquiries in person, by phone, fax, e-mail or online inquiry form.

In addition, Information Desk staff are there to assist young users:

• To use the BA Catalog
• To use databases (Student Recourses Center)
• To locate books, references and periodicals.
• With research and reference questions
• In selecting useful Internet links.

At the Information Desk, young users may also:

• Fill out a membership application form and submit the requested documents to obtain their membership card

• Reserve audiovisual material

• Reserve computer workstations

• Ask librarians for assistance and guidance

• Fill out suggestion and comment forms(survey sheet)

• Register and sign in for a group orientation program

• Inquire about, and participate in the following YP Library programs and activities:

  • Reading For All
  • My Book: Digital and Print
  • Research for All
  • iEARN
  • Visit an Exhibition
  • Visit the ALEXploratorium
  • Other scheduled programs
