Every Year the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) offers research grants for young Egyptian postdoctoral researchers, below 35 years of age, who have completed their PhD within the past 5 years, or are expecting to complete it within the year of the grant announcement. The grants cover research in all fields of Natural sciences, Mathematics and Information Technology.
To this date, a total of 34 researchers have been granted the BA Research Grants. The whole application procedure for the Research Grants takes place online, a blind review process follows to evaluate each proposal. The reviewing Committee currently comprises 90 international reviewers (23 from USA), representing all areas of research fields.

US involvement/contribution within the project: Each researcher who applies to the program is required to have a foreign collaborator working in his field, out of 34 international foreign collaborators; 14 from USA.
Also the proposals reviewers committee comprises of more than 90 scientists in all relevant scientific fields from all over the world, where few of them are Nobel laureates; and 23 are from USA.
Achievements/progress to date.:
•40 published paper, and 3 published books available on Amazon website;
•5 national and international awards, as well as 11 assisted PhD and MSc students;
•And 34 international foreign collaborators from 10 countries (14 from USA).
