The Science Festivity 2014 ceremony has started on the 16^th of April and lasted for 2 days at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina plaza, the plaza welcomed visitors from all categories; individuals, families, groups and trips. The Science Festivity this year was under the overarching theme of “Human Life”, which includes the following subthemes: modern technology, human Health, medicine and communication. The aim of the festivity is to raise public awareness of all aspects of life, the external effects on it and how to life a healthy life.

The first day started with a speech by Eng. Ayman Elsayed, acting as Planetarium Science Center director, Eng. Hoda El Mikaty, Head of the Cultural Outreach Sector at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, then a group of public figures spoke, among them, Dr. Yasser Abdel Fatah, Secretary of the High Council of the Institutes and Research Centers, on behalf of Dr. Wael Eldagqy, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Major General Mahmoud Eissa, Prime district downtown Alexandria on behalf of Alexandria governer, Major General Tarek Elmahdy, Dr. Yasser Elgamal, chairman of the board of trustees of the Japanese university and the former minister of Education, and Dr. Nadia Zakhary, former minister of scientific research.

The visitors checked the science village and praised the exerted effort from both the organizers and the participants, and the variation of the activities and the workshops. Besides, they enjoyed the super science show and how it communicate science in an interesting way that amuses everyone despite their age.

Since 2006, the Planetarium Science Center organizes the Science Festivity in April every year, under a different overarching theme every year. During the festivity, the science village is the heart of the event where the participant kiosks are placed, from different charity organizations, educational institutions and profitable organizations to showcase their interactive activities for the public; among them the Faculty of Pharmacy, Alexandria University, Faculty of Kinder Garten, Arab academy for Science and Technology and Maritime, Asdaa Organization, Resala Charity Organization, the American Cultural Center, the National Network of Scientific and Technological Information, and a number of public and private schools in Alexandria.

The Festivity includes live shows like, The Super Science Show, The Black theater; operated by the BA Arts Center, and other Entertainment shows.

In the second day, 17 April, the public continued visiting the festivity village, whether school trips, or students groups, or university students, or families and individuals, to enjoy the festivity ceremonies like the first day.
