PSC Mid Year Program 2014/15

The Planetarium Scienec Center announces the opening of the Mid Year Program registration for the year 2014/15. The registration will be through the PSC website from 4 till 8 January 2015 or untill all the places are reserved. The program is targting students aging 4-16 years old, it starts on 25 January untill 5 Febrauary 2015

December Astronomy Night: Horoscopes Legends

With reference to November’s Astronomy Night, this month we discuss the stories behind the famous horoscopes from Aries to Pieces. We will discuss the different assumptions form historical point of view with discussing the relation between these assumptions and also we will show some international movies parts that tackled this issue.


Library of Alexandria Announces Partnership with 1001 Inventions

On the 13th of November 2014, Egypt’s world-famous Library of Alexandria and the global 1001 Inventions organisation have announced a four-year partnership agreement as part of a national educational programme in Egypt, to raise awareness and celebrate the unacknowledged history of science and technology in Muslim Civilisation.


November Astronomy Night: Sky Maps

What are the sky maps? How is it drawn and read? How can we recognize the celestial bodies through it? We will apply this on the autumn sky of Alexandria and know is most prominent constellations: Cassiopeia, Pegasus, Andromeda, and the Summer Triangle before its disappearance. Also, there will be lunar observation conducted through the telescope for the moon’s surface and its Meteorite crater.


Intel BASEF 2015 Lectures and Local Fairs

Within the framework of enriching the students who are participating in Intel Science and engineering Fair 2015 scientific background and the development of their scientific creativity, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Planetarium Science Center is organizing a series of lectures during the period 15 November 2014 to 25 January 2015 in Engineering, Natural Sciences. Biology, Medicine, and Humanities. These lectures will provide answers to all the questions and queries in the previous fields. The lectures are open to public and their dates and durations will be announced shortly


Super Science show at Abu Dhabi Scienec Festival

The Super Science Show, produced by the Planetarium Science Center, will be participating this year for the 2nd time at Abu Dhabi Science Festival (ADSF), held every year in the United Arab Emirates during the period 13 to 22 November


“Philae lander” lands on the surface of comet "67P" with the participation of Dr. Essam Heggy and three Egyptians scientists

Rosetta’s Philae probe has made the first-ever landing on a comet when it touches down on Comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko on Wednesday, November 12th. “Philae lander” headed for its assigned landing site named “Agilkia” on the surface of the comet, after a trip into space lasted 10 years, started in 2004.


Science Film Festival 2014
