Abstract:
This is a brief summary of a research conducted by Cordaid in 2006-2007. The research focused on managing the double bottom-line of microfinance by analysing the relationship between the social and financial performance of microfinance institutions (MFIs). The research conducted by Cordaid has analysed the relationship between social performance management (SPM) and financial performance of MFIs. The main question to be answered by the research was: ‘Does social performance management positively influence the financial performance of MFIs?’
