Abstract: This manual has been developed to serve as a blueprint for the development of district forestry programmes by administrative districts in Ghana. The goal is to assist District Assemblies to effectively integrate forestry programmes into their respective district development plans to reduce poverty, deforestation and forest degradation. The prescriptions in the manual were informed by our field experiences in developing forestry plans for the Assin and Nadowli Districts Assemblies. It outlines the materials required, stakeholders to be involved and the procedures to be followed for developing a District Forestry Plan. It targets District Forestry Staff, District Coordinating Directorate, District Planning Officers as well as Budget Officers.
