Grieving the Loss of Prof. Adnan Hamouni

Prof. Adnan Hamoui, Editor-in-Chief, Science Magazine (Majalet Al-Olooom), Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science (KFAS) and TWAS Arab Member, passed away on 29 September 2018.
Prof. Hamoui was born on 20 December 1932 in Damascus, Syria. He obtained his MSc in 1957 at Imperial Collage, University of London and DSc in 1969 at Paris University. He was editor -in-chief of the Arabic Edition of Scientific American. His previous positions include: Research Fellow, French National Centre for Scientific Research in Paris; Professor of Mathematics, Damascus University; Research Scientist and Coordinator, Diploma Programme in Mathematics, International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Trieste, Italy; Professor and Chairman, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, Kuwait University (1975-2005); Mathematics Editor, Kuwait Journal of Science and Engineering. He received the TWAS Arab Regional Prize for Popularization of Science in 2007. He was also a member of: European Academy of Arts, Science and Humanities, Paris; International Information Academy, Mosco; Islamic World Academy of Sciences. May his Soul Rest In Peace.
