TWAS-ARO Young Arab Scientists (YAS) prize 2009 In the Celebration of the year of Science and the year of Darwin, The Academy of Sciences for Developing Countries- Arab Regional Office (TWAS-ARO) is pleased to announce the 2009 Young Arab Scientists (YAS) prize in Biology and New Life Sciences. TWAS-ARO prizes are aimed at recognizing and rewarding the scientific work carried out by Arab scientists who live and work in Arab countries. This year the award will be given to an Arab Young Scientist who has major contributions in the field of biology and new life sciences. The prize holds a financial contribution of 3,000 USD.
The nominee should be: 1. Native of an Arab country 2. Lives and Works in an Arab Country 3. Holds a PhD in biology, new life sciences or related fields 4. Has remarkable contribution in her/his field 5. Less than 40 years old by 1st of June 2009. The nominations will only be accepted and valid from:
1-Membersof TWAS-ARO 2- Science Academies, National Research Councils, Universities, Scientific Institutions from the Arab Region, (a signed, stamped official nomination letter should be sent along with the nomination form, CV and list of publications to both the address and emails shown below)
