Open Access: All Human Knowledge Is There—So Why Can’t Everybody Access It?

Moving to open access publishing of academic work was meant to lower costs overall, but the rise of the hybrid approach was negating that key benefit. Elsevier's Alicia Wise told Ars that "there is a connection between quality and price," implying that the more expensive hybrid titles were simply better.
