Equinox Open Library Initiative, a trusted leader in open source technology development and support for libraries, is pleased to announce that Richland Public Library is utilizing authority control services through a partnership between Equinox and Backstage Library Works.

Equinox is partnering with Backstage Library Works to make authority control easy for libraries. Services from Backstage Library Works include Basefile Authority Control, Current Cataloging, and Authority Control Notification Services. Equinox manages the extracts and retrieval and loading of updated records.

“Implementing Backstage Library Works for our authority control services through our partnership with Equinox was very simple to do with little stress,” said Theresa Barnaby, Technical Services Supervisor at Richland Public Library. “We have been happy with this collaboration, and are impressed by the improved quality of our records. The result has been a catalog that is cleaner and has significantly enhanced our patrons’ ability to access the material they are looking for.”
