The MARC21 Bibliographic to LRM/RDA/RDF* Mapping and Transformation (MARC2RDA) Project is pleased to announce the successful completion of its first phase. This open-source project began in 2021 at the University of Washington Libraries in Seattle, and has evolved into an independent, volunteer-led initiative. The aim of the MARC2RDA Project is to create a robust mapping and transformation between legacy MARC21 Bibliographic records and LRM/RDA/RDF. 

Phase I focused on mapping and converting MARC21 Bibliographic fields considered core in the PCC Bibliographic Standard Record (BSR) for single expression manifestations and select aggregate manifestations. In other words, this first phase has addressed non-aggregates and simple augmentation aggregates. Records for resources not addressed in Phase I are filtered out of the transformation and not processed.
