   Biography
 
Mohamed El-Faham is Scientific Advisor (Senior Expert) and Founding Director (2003-2017) of the Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP), Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Egypt. He is also a Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Control Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport in Alexandria. He received his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alexandria and his MSc. and DSc. in Electrical Engineering from the George Washington University, Washington D.C., USA. He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). El-Faham is author/co-author of a number of publications. He monitors supporting young researchers programs through the BA Research Grants Program for post-doctoral researchers, in addition to a series of events he initiated aiming at researcher’s capacity building in science, technology & education. Another important role is assisting networking Arab scientists and researchers through the hosted Arab Regional Office of The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS). Since 2012, he has been on a number of committees of the National Academy of Sciences, USA. Currently he is a committee member of Teaching Responsible Science in Egypt. In 2014, was a committee member of the second MENA Education Institute on Responsible Science took place in Italy. In 2013, was a committee member of Education Institute on Responsible Science, took place in Malaysia, and in 2012, committee member of the Educational Institute for Responsible Research on Infectious Diseases: Ensuring Safe Science in the 21st Century, took place in Jordon.
