Egypt and the Nile Basin: Between Past, Present and Future

The Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP), in collaboration with the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World-Arab Regional Office (TWAS-ARO) organized a public lecture entitled Egypt and the Nile Basin: Between Past, Present and Future.

The Lecture was presented by H.E. Dr. Mahmoud Abu-Zeid, President of the Arab Water Council and Former Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation. The Lecture aimed at discussing the relations between Egypt and the Nile Basin countries and the current conventions and initiatives; it also reviewed the current Egyptian water situation, the Egyptian plan to face it, and the future requirements.

The official language of the Lecture was Arabic.

The Lecture was held at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conference Center, Great Hall, on Tuesday, 27 December 2011, at 12:00 noon.

Around 100 participants attended the lecture.
