Amr Amin

Biography:

Received his MSc and PhD in Electrical Engineering from New Mexico State University, USA, in 1982 and 1986, respectively. At present, he is the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Helwan University. His research areas are renewable energy, power electronics, and electric drives. He is currently involved in several funded research projects. Those include Solar Energy Water Desalination, 400K Euro RDI fund and CSP Prototype for 1MW Electricity Generation and Water Desalination, 22M Euro FP7 fund. He is involved in providing consultations to industry in the areas of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He participates in all educational, administration, curriculum development, industrial cooperation, cooperative training, and continuous education. He was granted many educational and research awards. He is a reviewer for many national and international funding schemes, FP7, TEMPUS, RDI, IMC and STDF. He organized and attended many scientific conferences and workshops. He published many scientific articles and papers, in local and international conferences and journals.
