Prof. Maha Ghanem

Biography:

Prof Maha Ghanem is Professor in Forensic Medicine and Clinical Toxicology. She is the General Secretary of the Scientific Committee of Forensic Medicine. Chairperson of Ethics Committee, Faculty of Medicine, since 2011, (Secretary of the Committee since 2006). Previously, the General Secretary of the Supreme Council of Health, Chairperson of General Medical Council, Ministry of Health. A member of the Ethics Committee, Alexandria University, 1 August, 2017 She is General Supervisor of Alexandria Poison Center, Chief Executive of Continuing and Open Education and Professional Programs; and member of the Committee responsible for the University report. She is a member in many committees, such as Eastern Mediterranean Association of Medical Editors, Egyptian Network of Research Ethics Committees (ENREC), Postgraduate and Research Committee, Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University (2009�2015) and Committee of Patents at Alexandria University (2010). Formerly, a member of Scientific Research Committee and Training Committee, Ministry of Health, since April 2015; and member of scientific committee in the Egyptian Authority for Mandatory Training.

In 2015, she became external evaluator of doctorate degrees in Forensic Medicine and Clinical Toxicology; and Master degrees of Forensic Medicine and Clinical Toxicology, Faculty of Medicine, Tanta University and Cairo University.

She was selected as an Associate Editor in Alexandria Medical Journal AJME, Peer reviewer in Food and Chemical Toxicity, Alexandria Journal of medicine, The Egyptian Heart Journal at Elsevier Group, Peer reviewer in SQUMJ, Human and Experimental Toxicology at SAGE group; and Editorial Manager and peer reviewer in Environmental Science and Pollution Research, Springer (Germany).

She is the course instructor for many teaching programs as medical ethics curriculum for undergraduates and postgraduates. She joined in writing the self-assessment study on ethics standard and credibility, Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University.
