Biography:

Eng. Musaed M. Aklan searches for areas of challenge where he can offer sound and acceptable solutions. Aklan was born on 5 November 1981 in Alqufa'a village, Ibb, Yemen. There he graduated from high school, where the education was neither good nor encouraged. Aklan did not let obstacles stop him from achieving his goals. He earned his first degree as a civil engineer in 2006, Sana'a University, Yemen. Four years later, he obtained his Master degree in the field of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM), Cologne University, Germany.
In 2006, Aklan was chosen as one of the best three BScgraduates to join the Ministry of Water and Environment (MWE) Team of Experts. In practice, and besides working in MWE as an IWRM consultant, he is research Assistant at the University of Science and Technology and Civil Engineering, as well as consultant at Social Fund for Development (SFD), Water and Environment Unit. Eng. Aklan has worked with national and international Agencies, and official and local communities, such as: GIZ, ESCWA-BGR, MWE, SFD.
Recently, Aklan was selected as one of the 10 best young researchers from different Arab countries to present his Master degree research at the TWAS-ARO 7th Annual Meeting on "Water, Nuclear and Renewable Energy, Challenges versus Opportunities" on 28 and 29 December 2011 at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Egypt.
Today, he encourages his students and young people to study the management sciences of water and other environmental scarce recourses.
