Biography:

  • Professor of Biological Control, Department of Economic Entomology and Pesticides, Faculty of Agriculture, Cairo University, Giza.
  • Has been teaching and doing research in the fields of Insect biology and Ecology; Biological Control of Agricultural pests and disease vectors using natural enemies such as predators and entomopathogenic bacteria, viruses, fungi and nematodes.
  • Has more than 40 scientific publications in these fields.
  • Author, co-author and editor of several training guides on Environmental Education addressing school teachers and students as well as NGO members.
  • Translator of many books, essays and reports covering a wide range of subjects, from children stories, up to popular science and international politics.
  • Founding member of several environmental, developmental and human-rights NGOs.
