Mohammed M. Shabat

Biography:

Prof. Shabat born in Palestine in 1960. He received his BSc degree in Physics from Al-Azhar University, Egypt, in 1984; and PhD degree from the University of Salford, UK, in 1990. In 1992, he joined the Physics Department at the Islamic University of Gaza (IUG). He became a Professor of Physics in 2000.He was awarded the Shoman Prize, Jordan, 1995; the Humboldt Research Fellowships in 1998, Germany "Galileo Galilei" Award, 2006 and ISSESCO Prize in Science, 2010. Prof. Shabat was a Visiting Professor at Max Planck Institute, Dresden, Germany. He is currently the Vice-President at the IUG. Prof. Shabat became Distinguished Professor in 2011. He published more than 240 papers. He is a fellow of TWAS and a senior member of IEEE.



Abstract:

The rules of the universities towards the sustainability developments are pointed out and discussed. The study and present status of the Islamic University of Gaza is explained in terms of Science, Engineering and Technology; and some proposed points to increase the sustainability development are suggested.
