Mohammad Hamdan

Biography:

Hamdan obtained his PhD in Mathematical Statistics (Sydney University, 1963), and his BSc in Pure Mathematics (Cairo University, 1957). He is currently Senior Advisor, Arab Open University, Kuwait. His previous academic positions include: Faculty membership in several universities: AUB, AUC, VPISU (Virginia), Jordan University. His previous administrative positions include: President of Yarmouk University, Jordan; President of Hashemite University, Jordan; Minister of Education and Higher Education, Jordan; Secretary General of Higher Council for S&T, Jordan; and Rector of Arab Open University, Kuwait.



Abstract:

A standard clause in the bylaws of universities stipulates the responsibility of the Board of Trustees in the periodic evaluation of the academic, administrative and financial performance of the University. The paper presents a number of proposed criteria for such evaluation with a set of requirements that should be satisfied for fulfillment of each criterion. The ultimate goal is to achieve total quality management as an integral component of a comprehensive strategy with a well-articulated realistic action plan.
