“Arts in the Classroom” project is organizing a new workshop in the Al-Fayoum governorate.

Within the framework of the program Support to Cultural Diversity and Creativity in Egypt, “Arts in the classroom” team headed to Al-Fayoum governorate to organize the 10th workshop implemented under the project. The workshop extends over a period of 4 days, starting from Monday the 30th of March to the Thursday the 2nd of April, 2015. Throughout the workshop school students are trained on four types of art by professional mentors, under whose guidance students are also encouraged to produce their own artworks.

“Arts in the Classroom” is regarded one of the main activities implemented under Support to Cultural Diversity and Creativity in Egypt; a program co-funded by the European Union and executed by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. This activity is specifically designed for the students of governmental and experimental schools, aged between 12 to 16 years old. It aims to expose them to the arts and, accordingly, to enhance their artistic talents and social skills. This is to be done by providing them interactive sessions and workshops on four types of arts: fine arts, music, theatre and filmmaking. Each workshop extends over a period of four days, and as a whole, they are carried out in 12 different Egyptian governorate. Hitherto, the workshops have been implemented in a number of the Egyptian governorates including; Alexandria, Damietta, Beheira, Aswan, Luxor, Ismailia, Dakahlia, Minya and Al-Wady Al-Gadid.
