Organized by the BA Francophone Activities Center, in cooperation with l’Institut Français d’Egypte à Alexandrie, the Lecture It is given by Gilles Kepel, Professor at the Institute of Political Studies Paris. Born in 1955, Kepel holds The lecture 2 PhDs: one in sociology and another in political science. He is professor of Islam and the contemporary Arab World, and has several publications the first of which was Le prophète et le Pharaon (The Prophet and the Pharaoh) in 1984, and the latest was Passion arabe published in 2013 and awarded the Pétrarque prize from France Culture channel and Le Monde newspaper.

The Lecture is given in French, and simultaneous translation into Arabic will be available.
