This course will help librarians to combine the theoretical approach and the practical application of the Dewey classification system. The course introduces the basic concepts of classification and their development since their establishment. The course will present the tables of the Dewey Decimal Classification (22^nd edition) and will focus on some of the most widely used numbers. Examples will be provided. The course includes some lectures on the scientific and practical methods for understanding book topics in a systematic manner. Some lectures include practical exercises and classifications of subjects, such as literature, folk literature, religion, and Islamic history.
