The BA Donates Moroccans in Egypt to the Morocco National Library

The BA donated Moroccans in Egypt throughout the 18th Century by Dr. Hossam Abd el-Moaty, Professor at the Faculty of Arts, Beni-Suef University, to the Morocco National Library.
This donation was a part of the first academic conference organized by the BA outside of Egypt. Titled “Refuting the Basis of Extremist Discourse”, the conference was held recently in Morocco’s capital, Rabat, in collaboration with the Mohammadia League of Scholars. During the conference, the BA donated numerous copies of the book to the Morocco National Library and the Mohammed V University.
The book portrays the longstanding Egyptian-Moroccan relations dating back to ancient times by tracing Moroccan families living in Egypt, tracing the history of the Moroccan trade houses, and revealing the economic and social activities carried out by Moroccans in Egypt.
This BA publication is written by the great historian, Dr. Hossam Abd el-Moaty, who began this extensive research in light of the selection of the Kingdom of Morocco as a guest of honor at the 2012 BA Book Fair.
