The Bibliotheca Alexandrina – in partnership with Senghor University in Alexandria, l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Sciences de l'Information et des Bibliothèques (ENSSIB), and la Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF) – announces the commencement of the online registration for the Diplôme Universitaire en Sciences de l’Information et des Bibliothèques (DUSIB) starting 13 June 2021. Applications should be submitted online by 1 September 2022 at the latest.

The DUSIB is an internationally recognized one-year distance-learning diploma in the field of library and information sciences.

This diploma, accredited and provided by Senghor University and ENSSIB, combines the academic and practical aspects of learning. Its courses (10 units taught over the span of 60 credit hours) are followed by a six-week practical training at the BA, the BnF, or any other internationally acclaimed francophone library.

The partnering institutions offer online platforms that include courses, videos, forums between students and teachers, as well as video conferences for live lectures.

This diploma targets librarians and information service specialists, in order to help them develop necessary professional skills, enrich their theoretical and practical knowledge, train them on the latest techniques, and qualify them to meet the needs of the public.

It is worth mentioning that the Diplôme Universitaire en Sciences de l’Information et des Bibliothèques (DUSIB) was launched three years ago, and was a major success internationally, as it assembled students from four continents: Europe, Africa, Asia, and North America.

Through this diploma, students can obtain an internship at an information services institution to help them increase their chances of acquiring a job in the field. The partnering institutions provide a unique education that suits the qualifications and needs of every student. They continuously develop the curriculum to meet the challenges of the labor market and educational systems.
