BA Organizes Islamic Culture Course in Cooperation with Assiut Cultural Palace

The BA, in cooperation with Assiut Cultural Palace, is organizing an Islamic culture course from 24 July to 7 August 2016. The course will be held under the aegis of Helmy El-Namnam, Minister of Culture, and Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the BA. The course will be inaugurated by Dr. Mohamed Mehana, Advisor to the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, who will deliver a lecture entitled “Quranic Comprehension of Different Civilizations”. Dr. Khaled Azab, Head of the BA Central Projects and Services Sector, will also take part in the inauguration by delivering a lecture on the Fiqh of urbanism in the Islamic civilization.

The course will be held as part of the BA program that aims to combat extremism and terrorism, in collaboration with several institutions, such as Al Azhar. The sessions will be held at the Assiut Cultural Palace and will cover several religious, artistic, and historical topics, among others.

Sixty participants are set to take part in this course with ages varying between 15 and 35. Each participant will receive a certificate of attendance and a collection of books on Islamic culture. The course will be supervised by Abd El Aal Zahran and coordinated by Diaa Mekawy and Ahmed Hassan.
