The PSC invites children and youth, 4 – 16 years of age, to join the Center's Summer Program. The Program includes a variety of activities such as: practical experiments, scientific contests, lectures, Planetarium and Auditorium shows.

The GLOBE at Night program is an international citizen-science campaign to raise public awareness of the impact of light pollution by inviting citizen-scientists to measure their night sky brightness and submit their observations to a website from a computer or smart phone. Light pollution threatens not only our “right to starlight”, but can affect energy consumption, wildlife and health. The GLOBE at Night campaign has run for two weeks each winter/spring for the last six years. People in 115 countries have contributed 66,000 measurements, making GLOBE at Night one of the most successful light pollution awareness campaigns.

Abdallah Casper, a Programs and Events Specialist at the PSC since 2006, is the creator of the fascinating Super Science Show, one of the most successful and innovative programs conducted by the Center. The Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) organized the sixth Science Festivity on 28-29 March 2012. The overarching theme of SF 2012 was “Natural Sciences: Earth and Sun”. The event raised the public awareness of the importance of saving our limited natural resources, and preserving the environment through knowledge.

For the 5th year in a row, The Planetarium Science Center (PSC), in collaboration with Intel Co. organized the Intel Bibliotheca Alexandrina Science and Engineering Fair (Intel BASEF), which was hosted by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) from 10 to 12 March 2012.

Intel-BASEF is a competition designed to increase the school students awareness of the importance of scientific research and to discover the youth innovative and research capacities. This year, the projects will be evaluated and screened on two levels.
