Dr. Khaled Azab, the director of the BA Central Projects and Services Sector, and Sheikh Yusuf Adeis, the Palestinian Minister of Endowments (Awqaf) and Religious Affairs, have signed a joint cooperation agreement between Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) and the Institute for Islamic Research and Heritage Revival (IIRHR).

The agreement aims to establish cooperation in the field of preserving documents and manuscripts. The IIRHR archive and a large number of photos and documents on Palestine will be included in the BA Memory of the Arab World Project. The IIRHR will also be contacted to participate in the program for intellectually combatting extremism and terrorism, which is organized and executed by the BA in collaboration with a number of Arab organizations.

Sheikh Yusuf Adeis praised the efforts of the BA in preserving heritage through its various projects. He pointed out that the BA will provide the general public with the thousands of manuscripts of the IIRHR, as well as the archive of the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Religious Affairs of Palestine. He also affirmed that the IIRHR will benefit from the expertise of the BA in restoring the Palestinian manuscripts.

The Library has presented a collection of books and BA publications to Sheikh Yusuf Adeis.
