The BA Children’s and Young People’s (YP) Libraries had organized a program of various activities and events during the 2018 mid-year vacation. The program included cultural, artistic, scientific, educational, and recreational activities that cater for people of different ages and interests.

Both libraries offered versatile programs in cooperation with several voluntary organizations in Alexandria, including AVAD Club, Formula Team, and the Echo Kids and Echo Junior initiatives.

The YP Library organized, for the second year, a program for skill development specifically targeting exceptional students. This program was held within the framework of the excellence and creativity program organized by the BA in cooperation with the Directorate of Education in Alexandria.

Within the framework of its interest in raising parents’ awareness about children’s mental and psychological health, the YP Library joined forces with the Alexandria Regional Centre for Women's Health and Development and with psychiatry professors from the Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University, to organize a program of awareness-raising lectures for parents during the 2018 mid-year vacation. The program addressed a number of issues that concern families, such as proper nutrition, violence against children, sexual abuse, and depression in children.
