Essay Contest 2009
To Kill a Mockingbird
The Big Read essay contest around the novel To Kill a Mockingbird was launched at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina on 26 February 2009.
We welcome writers of all ages and invite you to submit your essay, written in English or in Arabic, to the Reference Desk at the Entrance level of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina by 15 July 2009.
Participants from outside Alexandria may send their essay to infobib@bibalex.org, using as a subject line “Big Read Essay Contest”, and indicating the following personal data: Name – Age – Profession – Organization – Field of Study – Country – Phone – E-Mail
The essays will be reviewed by a committee presided by Dr. Shadia El-Soussi (for English essays) and Dr. Mohamed Zakaria Anani (for Arabic essays). The finalists will be announced during the Big Read Summer Celebration on 13 August 2009.
