The General Collections & Services Department is holding a symposium entitled “Memory in Women’s Writings: A Text Abandoned by its Characters as a Case in Point”, by the author of the novel Prof. Dina Abdel Salam, Associate Professor, Department of English Language and Literature, Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University.
The novel “A Text Abandoned by its Characters” revolves around an Alexandrian elderly woman fighting illness, and racing against time in order to finish writing her diaries and send it to her daughter before she passes away.
The symposium will be held on Tuesday 14 March 2017, at 5:00 pm in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Main Entrance, Auditorium.

Le département des Collections et Services Généraux vous invite à une séance en langue arabe intitulée « la mémoire dans les écrits de femmes en prenant l’exemple du roman : un texte délaissé par ses héros ».
C’est un roman qui tourne autour d’une vieille dame d’Alexandrie luttant contre la maladie et le déroulement du temps pour pouvoir terminer ses mémoires et les envoyer à sa fille avant de mourir.
La séance sera animée par Dina Abdel Salam, l’auteur du roman et professeur assistant au département de langue et littérature anglaises à la faculté des lettres de l’Université d’Alexandrie.
La séance aura lieu le mardi 14 mars 2017 à 17h00 à l’auditorium situé à l’entrée principale de la Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

وسوف تلقي الندوة الدكتورة دينا عبد السلام؛ مؤلفة الرواية، وأستاذ مساعد بقسم اللغة الإنجليزية وآدابها، كلية الآداب، جامعة الإسكندرية.
وتدور رواية «نص هجره أبطاله» حول سيدة سكندرية مسنة، تصارع المرض، وتسابق الزمن لتنتهي من مذكراتها وترسلها لابنتها قبل أن تفارق الحياة.».
