January Astronomy Night
13 January 2016
How did the scientific renaissance in the Islamic civilization start? How did they observe stars? How did they use the ancient observation tools?

To know more about the Islamic astronomer and mathematician Ibn Al-Shater Al-Demashky, join our January astronomy night at the BA Planetarium Science Center. The lecture will discuss several points related to astronomy in the Islamic civilization. It will also introduce information about the Islamic astronomer Ibn Al-Sahter Al-Demashky, whose works were adapted later on in the European renaissance. The lecture will focus on the book about Ibn Al-Shater recently published in Dar Al-Kitab Al-Masri; this book discusses the Islamic astronomy and astronomical tools such as astrolabes, in addition to the tool which Ibn Al-Shater invented.
