On 9-10 November 2006, NAMES second meeting took place and was hosted by Tunis Science City.

The meeting took place in the presence of:

1.  Eng. Hoda Elmikaty Director, Bibliotheca Alexandrina Planetarium Science Center;

2.  Dr. Mohamed Hédi Ben Ismail General Director, Tunis Science City;

3.  Mrs. Gözde Onaran Turkey Science Centers Foundation;

4.  Eng. Mijbil Almutawa Chairman & Managing Director, The Scientific Center of Kuwait ; and

5.  Eng. Sultan Alamri Deputy Director General, Science & Technology Center (Scitech), Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, the Network was officially launched and the five attendees signed the Memorandum of Understanding and initialed the Internal Regulations; both documents can be reviewed on the Network's official website, also launched at the meeting.

Eng. Hoda Elmikaty, Director of Bibliotheca Alexandrina Planetarium Science Center, was elected President of NAMES Board of Directors for a term of two years, beginning on 10 November 2006, and ending on 9 November 2008.

Dr. Mohamed Hédi Ben Ismail, General Director of Tunis Science City, was elected Vice-President of NAMES Board of Directors for a term of two years, beginning on 10 November 2006, and ending on 9 November 2008.

Mrs. Gözde Onaran, Representative of Turkey Science Centers Foundation, was elected Treasurer of NAMES for a term of two years, beginning on 10 November 2006, and ending on 9 November 2008.

Eng. Mijbil Almutawa, Chairman and Managing Director of The Scientific Center of Kuwait, and Eng. Sultan Alamri, Deputy Director General of Science & Technology Center (Scitech) in Saudi Arabia, were named members of the Board of Directors of NAMES network for a term of two years, beginning on 10 November 2006, and ending on 9 November 2008.

NAMES Board of Directors agreed that Full Membership of NAMES will be free from fees for the term of two years, beginning on 10 November 2006, and ending on 9 November 2008.
