Egyptian Team Wins Big at 2016 Intel ISEF

For the fourth consecutive year, the Intel Bibliotheca Alexandrina Science and Engineering Fair (Intel BASEF) teams won two of the top places in the 2016 International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF), which was held from 8 to 13 May 2016 in Phoenix, Arizona, USA.


Transit of Mercury Across the Sun Observation

The BA Planetarium Science Center is inviting the public, students and sky lovers to monitor the phenomenon on Mercury’s transit across the sun for free on Monday, the 9th of May starting from 12:30 pm. There will be observations by telescopes at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina to monitor the phenomenon of Mercury’s transit across the sun using special solar filters. We strongly advise you not to look at the sun by the naked eye during the transit.

In the closing ceremony, four winning projects will be announced, which will represent Egypt in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) in the USA during the period from 8-13 May 2016.

Intel Science Copetition-Arab World 2015 Winners

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) in collaboration with Intel Egypt and Sharaf Foundation for sustainable development have organized the sixth Intel Science Competition – Arab World from 17 to 19 December 2015, in which more than 110 students from 11 Arab countries have participated in the competition. They presented 77 projects and competed for prizes worth 20,000 US dollars.
