The ALEXploratorium Re-opening - "Discover Yourself, Your Environment, and the Universe"!
21 February 2010

The Planetarium Science Center (PSC) at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina is pleased to announce the re-opening of the ALEXploratorium to its visitors, after being completely renovated, as of 21 February 2010.

The ALEXploratorium is a leading edutainment facility that makes science accessible and interesting to children and adults alike, through innovative and interactive activities that explain scientific facts and demonstrate their presence in our daily life. The experiments and exhibitions cover most of the principal scientific fields, such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Astronomy.

After this renovation, the ALEXploratorium area has increased from 558 m² to 785 m², and will now include 58 experiments. The visitor will explore our three zones: Discover Yourself, Discover Your Environment, and Discover the Universe. Each zone comprises many experiments relative to its topic and has a color theme that stems from corresponding natural phenomena, and each has its own attractive floor design. Here visitors can try out various experiments related to the human body, the solar system, the earth, action and reaction, and much more. In addition to numerous interactive exhibitions, and science contests, we also have a new gift shop specially built for you.

You are invited to enjoy a day or a couple of hours of fun and learning at our new ALEXploratorium, starting from 21 February 2010.

Opening hours: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm; all days of the week except Fridays, 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
