Science Festivity - Science For All
05 April 2011

The PSC is inviting you to the fifth Science Festivity. It is an event that introduces science to the public and gets the public involved in science in an exciting way. In the Science Festivity, textbooks and lessons are replaced by games, contests, and experiments. It is the place where science is fun.

The Science Festivity is a market-like event where schools, universities, as well as NGOs offer science to the public for free. For four consequent years, the PSC has successfully organized the Science Festivity, now one of the Center’s most prominent and highly anticipated annual events attracting nearly 20,000 visitors in 2010. In 2011, the Science Festivity will be back for the fifth time to give the public a new and unique taste of science.

Each year, the Science Festivity has an overarching theme, around which activities, including hands-on exhibits, experiments, games, and sessions revolve. This year, the main theme is “Science and Scientists” emphasizing their pivotal role in the economic growth. The event will take place on 10 April, from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm, at the BA Plaza.

This year, Dr. Farouk El-Baz, director of the center for remote sensing at Boston university, is going to give a lecture at the BA Conference Center, Great Hall at 6:00 pm.
