The PSC Participates in 2012 International Conference on Science Communication

The University of Lorraine (Nancy, France) organized the 2012 International Conference on Science Communication, held on 2-7 September 2012. Almost 300 participants took part in the event, brought together around the theme “Science Communication: International Perspectives, Issues and Strategies”.

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina Planetarium Science Center was among the event’s participants and  presented a paper tackling the status of science communication in Egypt and the MENA region.

The paper, presented by Ayman Elsayed, Deputy Director of the PSC, and co-authored by Nermine Toma, Head of Marketing and Fundraising Unit, and Maissa Azab, Head of the Education Publications Unit, stresses the importance of  the production of science and technology for the region's new renaissance, taking in consideration the wide diversity of its population that has been inflicted by years of oppression, poverty and illiteracy.
