Monthly Astronomy Nights

The PSC Amateur Astronomy Club team will organize Monthly Nights that aim at disseminating astronomy culture and attracting amateurs to observe different astronomical phenomena and share the latest news and updates in astronomy and space sciences.

The Astronomy Nights will be held once a month and will include a variety of activities, such as open-for-public lectures, defining significant astronomical phenomena that happens in the evening, astronomical observations, in addition to competitions.

The activities of the first monthly Astronomy Night, which will be held on 14 February 2013, will include:

• “Secrets of Man Landing on the Moon”, a Lecture by Dr. Ashraf Latif from Helwan Observatory.
•  Distributing maps of the Sky of Alexandria during the month of January.
• Presenting the latest updates in Astronomy and Space Sciences.
• Observing Jupiter using telescopes at the BA Plaza.
• Astronomy competition and prizes’ distribution.
• Observing the stars of winter using laser at the BA Plaza.
