Eliminate poverty – a worthwhile undertaking, but a long term plan.  We are not very useful as public health professionals in low income country, if when asked for advice, we tell countries to become wealthier.
Improved sanitary infrastructure – in that order, water first, then food.  Water vessel could help.  Even these are expensive steps.
Also think about broader implications of improved water and food cleanliness.  This would not only help with tyhphi, but cholera, shigella, other types of Salmonella  . . .
