This schematic shows an example of the sequence of activities for NHANES.
We call our examination sites “stands”.
If a stand were to open in June/July, meaning we would be conducting
interviews/exams in a area at that time, the advance arrangements would begin in January or February of that year.
Actually a good bit of work is done in a community before individuals are even
contacted (via advance letter)
Public health officials
Local governing officials
Community groups
Identify site for the Mobile Examination Centers (MECs)
Media announcements.
Then the advance letter… and so on
