This lecture introduces an emerging topic in global health today; injury epidemiology. Injuries represent a significant burden today in both developed and developing economies. The underlying issue, though, is what can we do about it and how.

An Introduciton

An introduction to the field of injury epidemiology. It contains an overview of injuries, their relative importance around the world, and proposed mechanisms for reducing their impact. Persons with little previous experience in epidemiology should start here.

Moving from Descriptive to Analytic Designs

A discussion of research study designs related to injuries, with an emphasis on the relative weaknesses and strengths of each epidemiologic design.
