Dr. Lee Caplan

I am a medical officer in the Epidemiology and Health Services Research Branch of the Division of Cancer Prevention and Control at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta. I have a long standing interest in cancer screening and early detection tracing back to my mother's experiences with breast cancer screening and her fight against breast cancer. I have worked extensively in the area of breast cancer screening, especially regarding issues of delay. This lecture on screening grew out of a lecture which I gave to first year medical students while I was an assistant professor in the Department of Preventive and Medicine at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
