quality of life is diminished solely because of activity restriction (such
as by limiting social and leisure activities) or if people who have fear of
falling but do not restrict activity also develop a diminished QOL.
Fear of falling with or without activity restriction is associated with lower scores on quality of life measures.
Characteristics that are associated with diminished quality of life include reduced social interaction, a preoccupation with fear of falling, and extreme anxiety that detracts focus from activity performance.
