An increased risk of death from cardiovascular disease, probably a result of obesity, insulin resistance, hyperinsulinemia, glucose intolerance, hypertension and dyslipidemia (metabolic syndrome) (84) has been reported among childhood cancer survivors. This may hold true for survivors of adult cancer as well, and larger, well-designed studies with the capacity to generate definitive findings continue to be needed.
