Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) was first described in 1992. It was hailed as a new approach to teaching medicine and was once described in the New York Times as a "revolution" in medical practice. EBM has spawned a host of "evidence-based" approaches including: ethics, psychotherapy, occupational therapy, dentistry, nursing, and librarianship.
